On Tuesday evening, September 29th, wet roadways caused a driver to spin his vehicle out of control and hit a tree near Winter Haven. The car went up and over the curb and was impaled by a tree—splitting the car in half! The front end of the vehicle was on one side of the tree and the rear end was on the other.
The 20 year-old driver was sent to the hospital, but none of his injuries were life-threatening. By a miracle, the driver survived. Police claim he was wearing his seatbelt.
The treacherous rain and storms that have plagued Florida have made road conditions very slick and dangerous, resulting in many accidents—like this one. However, the driver did as he was supposed to and wore his seatbelt for safety precautions. It’s amazing how a seatbelt really can save a life in devastating accidents—especially ones that tear a car in half!
Car accidents can be life-changing to say the least. They can even consume lives. But sometimes accidents can be prevented by taking simple safety measures, such as driving the speed limit, avoid driving recklessly, focusing on the road, and wearing a seatbelt.
However, there are accidents that happen that are out of our control, such as poor or hazardous weather conditions or when another driver disobeys basic road rules and causes an accident.
Car accident attorneys see these cases and accidents all too often. We are experienced in representing clients who have been involved in accidents that have caused life-threatening injuries.
